How to Use a Second Brain App
A first-week workflow inside MemoBraid’s local workspace.
Introduction
MemoBraid’s Login button opens a local workspace — there is no account signup. Everything below assumes you are in `/app` on this device.
What you'll learn
- Where to click on day one
- How Home, Notes, and Collections differ
- How Organize and Ask AI behave with and without a key
- What not to expect from placeholder editor hints
The surfaces that matter
Use these as your default map:
- Home — all non-trashed notes with search
- Notes — filters, tags, collections, pin in grid view, Capture
- Collections — create and open topic groups
- New Note — blank note with Mem-style editor chrome
Daily use
Capture with New Note whenever something is worth keeping. Use search on Home when you remember a phrase. Open Collections when you are working inside a theme.
On a note, # Organize reviews suggestions. Trash moves a note out of the active library; restore from the Trash page if needed.
Optional AI paths
In Settings → AI, add your own OpenAI-compatible key if you want cloud organization or Ask AI synthesis. Without a key, local keyword organize and local retrieval still work; the app will not invent answers.
Honest limits
The editor placeholder mentions `/`, `@`, and `#` commands — those slash menus are not implemented as interactive commands today. Voice / Checklist / Table buttons insert starter text only. Favorites exists as a page but has no pin-to-favorite control in the current UI.
Ten-minute onboarding
- Click Login / open `/app`.
- Create a note and write three bullets about a real topic.
- Open Notes and confirm it appears in the list.
- Create a Collection and attach the note.
- Search Home for a word from your note.

FAQ
Why is Login not a username form?
MemoBraid is local-first. Login simply enters the on-device workspace.
Where did Inbox go?
Inbox still exists at `/app/inbox` and Capture can save there, but it is not in the current sidebar. Notes remains the primary list.
Is Ask AI in the sidebar?
Not in the current sidebar, but `/app/assistant` is implemented if you navigate there.
